Single-payer insurance would be less costly for all

Dr. Arnold Relman writes in his book, "A Second Opinion," that "a few years from now, a clear majority of (medical professionals) will probably favor a universal insurance plan that replaces the present hodgepodge of private and public plans" because he believes that most medical professionals did not enter the profession simply for financial reward but because they "sought to use modern biological science to help the sick and injured." Let us hope Dr. Relman was right. |
